| Type Locality |  
         Okokodiagbene village northwest of Bakakodia, Niger delta approximately 20 km northeast of the mouth of the Encravos River & 55km westnorthwest of Warri.  |

         Presently only known from the type locality.  | 
    
| Habitat |  
         A temporary pool on an unnamed island in the western Niger delta area. This is situated at the edge of a freshwater seasonal mangrove swamp area.  | 
    
| Distinguishing Characteristics | Unknown as they are only known from preserved specimens whose sex cannot be determined. |

| History |  
         C.B.Powell made 2 collecting trips to the type locality. The type specimens were collected on the first trip but the pool was dry on his second visit.  | 
    
| Breeding Notes |  
         Not maintained in aquaria. Wildekamp (1995) considered them to be annual accounting for geographic position with an incubation period of 2-3 months.  |
