Refers to the outer margins of the un-paired fins being black.

Romer 1996 - Benguié, 45 km north east of Lambarene

Type Locality

Given as residual pools of a rainforest brook on NR 1, 9 km southwest of Bifoun.

Distribution

Restricted to the type locality. This is on the north side of the Ogowe River in northwest Gabon.

Habitat

Presently only known from the type locality.

Sympatric sp. include Aphyosemion striatum.

History

Discovered by Huber & Radda in August 1976 in a drainage channel 3-5 metres wide situated 9 km south west of Bifoun on the Route National No.1.

Breeding Notes

Eggs water incubate for 12-14 days. Sexual maturity at 5-6 months.
